Recalls
The CPSC has a variety of options in seeking to institute a corrective action (commonly called a "recall") for consumers if the agency believes that a product is defective, is non-compliant with safety regulations, or otherwise is hazardous or unsafe. Most of CPSC's recalls are 'voluntarily' entered into between the company and the agency. The CPSC has a variety of options and tools at its disposal and a company should have competent counsel at its side to ensure that CPSC meets its legal obligations and burdens.
